Attached is the letter outlining the safety concerns of my child and me, as it was sent to Mayor Jim Strickland, WREG, Fox13 News, WMC Action 5 News, Honorable Steve Cohen, and the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office. Also, please see the attached is proof of letters sent via certified mail. Now, will any of them respond to help my child? We will update this story to let you know including anyone who fails to respond.

Correction: In the letter dated 2/26/2021 on paragraph 10, a typo was made as it was not Officer Redick, but instead the officer’s name was Sgt Kevin Covington, who Mr. Elbert Smith alleged was a part of a gang of officers, who rushed his car and started beating. Exhibit J reflects Sgt Kevin Covington’s name as well.
